Job Description
Digby Wells Environmental is seeking a Manager for Environmental Management Services in South Africa. This senior leadership role involves leading multi-country Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) programs, managing a team of specialists, and driving business development. Candidates should have significant experience in environmental consulting, project management, and client relationship building, along with a postgraduate degree and at least 8 years in the field.

We are looking for a seasoned environmental professional who combines technical excellence with strong commercial and leadership capability to lead our Environmental Management Services team.
This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape and grow a key service line, lead complex international projects, and drive business success across our global footprint.
What You’ll Do
Lead large, multi-country Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) programmes within the resources and infrastructure sectors.Oversee delivery of complex, integrated environmental and social projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.Drive business development by building strong client relationships, identifying opportunities, and securing new work.Own and grow a pipeline of work, contributing to revenue targets and service line strategy.Lead and develop a team of environmental project managers and specialists across multiple regions.Act as a key account manager and trusted advisor to clients.Manage departmental performance, financials, and resource planning.
Requirements
What we’re looking for:
Proven track record in managing large, complex ESIA and environmental projectsStrong experience in winning work and growing client relationships within a consulting environmentDemonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including senior professionalsSolid understanding of environmental legislation and international standardsStrong commercial acumen, including project financial managementExcellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills
Qualifications And Experience
Postgraduate degree in Environmental Management or related field8+ years’ experience in environmental consultingProven experience managing international projectsProfessional registration (EAPASA or equivalent preferred)
