Wastewise is seeking a permanent full-time Loading Shovel Operator in Crewe, UK. The role involves operating a wheeled loading shovel, maintaining equipment, and ensuring health and safety compliance. Working hours are Monday to Friday with potential weekend shifts during peak season. Candidates should have a Wheeled Loading Shovel License and experience in machine operation. Position : 360 (Grab) /Loading Shovel Operative / Site Operative Location : Biowise Ltd T/A Wastewise, Crewe IVC Job Type : Permanent Full Time Rate of Pay : £14.20 Hr, Full time, Monday to Friday 07:00am - 17:30pm. During Peak Season (April - Late October) Monday - Friday 6:00am - 17:30am on rotation. Saturday 6:00am - 14:00pm on rotation. (1 in 2) Sunday 6:00am - 14:00pm on rotation. (1 in 4) Saturday overtime paid at flat rate. Sunday overtime paid at double time. Bank holidays required on rotation. Paid at Double Time Benefits : Company Contribution into The Peoples Pension Scheme, Pay review to be completed in April. Company Profile Wastewise are a fast-growing waste management business operating three advanced composting facilities across the North of England. We process over 200,000 tonnes per annum of garden and food waste. This is converted into over 80,000 tonnes of BSI PAS 100 certified compost for use in a range of high-quality organic soil improvers, growing media and topsoil. Main duties will include safely and effectively operating a wheeled loading shovel moving unprocessed and processed food and garden waste on a busy site. You will be responsible for the daily maintenance and checks on your designated machine, and to ensure full Health Safety and Environmental compliance. Your daily operational responsibilities will range from checking incoming waste, operating mobile plant to shred the waste, managing material throughput, and screening the resulting compost to the desired grade. Other duties include : Being part of a small team, other operational duties will need to be performed: Litter Picking W/Bridge Operation (Full Training Will be Provided) Advise management of any on-going site issues. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Core Skills, Qualifications and work attitude needed for this position. Good Communication skills Basic computer skills Mechanical aptitude Good attention to detail Current Wheeled Loading Shovel License Essential. Waste treatment an advantage but not essential. Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage. Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures. Knowledge of record keeping system. Knowledge of weighbridge system. Be honest and trustworthy. Be courteous and respectful. Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity. Be flexible. Steady under pressure Determined Take pride in your work.
