The University of Kentucky seeks a full-time Lecturer in Sustainable Agriculture and Community Food Systems. The role involves teaching core courses, mentoring students, and leading undergraduate studies within an interdisciplinary environment. Candidates should have a relevant master's degree (PhD preferred) and experience in sustainable agrofood systems. Job Summary:
The Sustainable Agriculture and Community Food Systems ( SAG ) program ( seeks to fill a 12-month, Lecturer position that will work in an interdepartmental and interdisciplinary environment with faculty, students, and staff in the SAG program and in their academic home department. Instruction efforts will focus on SAG core course instruction and program support, augmented by additional instruction in the faculty member's are of disciplinary expertise and in service to the College.
The candidate will be the primary instructor for two SAG program classes per year (12 credit hours, including in-person and online sections), and teach two additional courses in their academic home department and/or at the college-level (6 credit hours); serve as the Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Sustainable Agriculture and Community Food Systems major and minor; serve as a professional mentor advisor for students with similar interest in their academic background; and support of program's recruitment and retention efforts. Specific teaching requirement will include the introductory course in sustainable agriculture and community food systems, a cross cultural perspectives on sustainability course, with additional coursework negotiated with SAG program leadership and the Department Chair of the home department.
Scholarly activities will include course development, publication of reviewed articles related to pedagogy, and program leadership through serving as the Director of Undergraduate Studies.

Required Education:
A MS (preferred: PhD or EdD) in agricultural economics, animal sciences, sociology, horticulture, plant science, or closely related field is required.
Required Related Experience:
Candidates are expected to possess, or be willing to develop, knowledge and teaching skills in interdisciplinary, sustainable agrofood systems. The individual should demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively across disciplines, work within a team as a member and leader, and be flexible and adaptable in the classroom environment.
