Kent PLC is seeking a Lead Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist in Aberdeen, UK. The role involves overseeing EIA delivery, mentoring junior specialists, ensuring high-quality project delivery, and engaging with clients in the UK energy sector. Join our dynamic team as the Lead Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist! This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key player in our emerging Environmental Team and contribute significantly to its growth and development.
As the EIA Lead, you will engage in a variety of exciting tasks, including client development, bids, and technical project delivery. We are looking for a passionate individual with a robust background in delivering Environmental Impact Assessments within the UK energy sector, specifically in low carbon, offshore wind, or oil and gas.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the EIA delivery team and associated specialist disciplines.
• Serve as the technical lead for exemplary project delivery.
• Ensure high standards of quality for all EIAs conducted by the UK business.
• Conduct related consultancy scopes, with a focus on DCOs, TCPAs, and associated applications.
• Provide strategic environmental guidance and advice to clients.
• Author, review, and approve technical reports.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior specialists.
• Prepare cost estimates and bids for new work scopes.
• Manage projects to adhere to agreed scopes, budgets, and timelines.
• Engage directly with clients, developing strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients.
• Recruit new team members to support market growth.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you may be tasked with other ad-hoc assignments based on organizational needs, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to meet our dynamic objectives.
Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in delivering EIAs and related assessments.
• A degree in a relevant field.
• Chartership with a recognized professional body (CEnv preferred).
• Experience in the UK Energy sector.
• Proven record of leading projects to meet delivery and cost targets without sacrificing quality.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards.
• Strong technical report writing capabilities and review skills.
• Experience in client-facing roles and comfortable navigating commercial challenges.
• Experience in developing and winning successful bids and proposals.
• Proactive in identifying business growth opportunities.
• Preferred line and team management experience.
