Our client, a forward-thinking architectural practice known for its commitment to innovative and sustainable design, is seeking a Lead Architect specializing in Sustainable Urban Design to join their esteemed team in Atlanta, Georgia, US . This hybrid role offers a dynamic work environment where collaboration and creative problem-solving are paramount, balanced with the flexibility of remote work. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of urban environments, focusing on creating aesthetically pleasing, environmentally responsible, and socially equitable developments. Responsibilities include leading the design process for large-scale urban projects, from conceptualization and master planning to detailed design and project oversight. This involves integrating sustainable principles such as green building technologies, energy efficiency, water conservation, and smart city solutions. You will lead and mentor a team of architects and designers, foster strong client relationships, and coordinate with a diverse range of consultants, including urban planners, landscape architects, and civil engineers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong design vision, a deep understanding of sustainability frameworks (e.g., LEED, WELL), and extensive experience in urban-scale projects. A Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree from an accredited institution, along with a current Georgia Architectural License, is required. A minimum of 8-12 years of progressive experience in architectural design and project management, with a significant focus on sustainable urban development, is essential. Proficiency in architectural software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp) and a portfolio showcasing impactful sustainable urban projects are mandatory. Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills are key to success in this role, enabling you to effectively guide teams and engage stakeholders in creating resilient and thriving urban communities.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the architectural design and sustainable development of major urban projects. Develop innovative design concepts integrating green building principles and smart city technologies. Oversee master planning and site analysis for complex urban developments. Ensure compliance with sustainability standards, building codes, and zoning regulations. Manage project teams, guiding design development and execution. Collaborate with clients, consultants, and community stakeholders to achieve project goals. Prepare and present design proposals and project documentation. Integrate energy-efficient design, water management strategies, and ecological considerations. Mentor junior architectural staff and promote best practices in sustainable design. Stay abreast of advancements in sustainable architecture and urban planning. Qualifications: Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree from an accredited institution. Current Professional Architectural License in Georgia (RA). Minimum of 8-12 years of progressive experience in architectural design and project management, with a specialization in sustainable urban development. Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale urban planning and architectural design projects. In-depth knowledge of sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED AP, WELL AP). Proficiency in architectural design and drafting software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp). Strong understanding of urban planning principles, zoning laws, and environmental design strategies. Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and team collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. A compelling portfolio showcasing relevant sustainable urban design projects.
