Description
Junior Consultants work at the forefront of environmental compliance, supporting key initiatives by ensuring that technical, environmental, or operational standards are met. Their main tasks involve validating and managing engineering, parametric and supplier-provided product environmental technical data and information. This position requires a background in chemistry, parts and components composition, and laboratory analysis techniques and will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to global standards for hazardous substances regulations (ROHS/REACH), conflict minerals, and related areas.
The ideal candidate is self-organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and meticulous, with a strong sense of responsibility for quality, and possess the ability to work independently under pressure in order to thrive in this role. Success in this role requires familiarity handling technical data, project requirements, regulatory standards, and the ability to learn quickly on the job. We are looking for self-starters eager to develop their expertise and contribute to high-impact projects.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management:

Document material and substance content of parts and materials based on technical sources.

Maintain and update project records and process documentation for workflows and tasks. Recommend and implement changes for continuous improvement.

Collect, test (as needed), validate, and manage data related to product and environmental compliance, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all records. Assist in reviewing and processing supplier-provided material composition content information, including lab reports, according to defined protocols. Ensure all documentation meets compliance standards.

Supplier and Client Communications

Provide support and assistance to the suppliers in producing the required regulatory and compliance data.

Be involved in the exchange of information between the business and the clients, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining strong relationships.

Progress Tracking and Reporting

Track the progress and performance of compliance activities, prepare technical and other reports as requested to document progress and results achieved to provide insights and updates to stakeholders.

Technical Data Utilization

Utilize product engineering, technical documents, or parametric data to meet various client and customer needs.

Ensure data is correctly interpreted and applied to support compliance efforts.

Risk Assessment

Support senior engineers in assessing risks associated with material composition of parts and assemblies.

Assist in documenting business processes for collecting and managing environmental, carbon, and sustainability-related supplier data.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Chemical/Materials/Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical), Chemistry, Sustainability, Environmental Science or equivalent experience (minimum 1 year) specializing in Engineering – Chemical/Materials/Electrical/Electronics/Sustainability
Experience with Parametric Data, managing/ interpreting Technical Drawings/Datasheets Knowledge in Product Compliance, Full Material Disclosure (FMD) Data, Material Safety Datasheet (MSDS) Knowledge of electronics/electrical manufacturing, bills of materials (BoMs), and materials typically used in electrical/electronic manufacturing Excellent communication skills, particularly in verbal and written English


Strong proficiency with digital software data handling tools (MS Office suite) Experience in SAP-EHSM, CMAP, CDX, IMDS, Alteryx, PowerBI will be an advantage Knowledge of foreign language (e.g. Chinese and/or Japanese) spoken and written technical language capability will be an advantage (required on certain projects).
