Amcor is seeking a full-time summer intern for its Sustainability team in Michigan, starting May 2025. The intern will engage in project-based work, reviewing sustainability programs, analyzing packaging legislation, and developing strategies for integrating sustainability into company culture. Candidates should be pursuing a graduate degree in relevant fields and possess strong analytical and communication skills. This internship offers exposure to leadership within a major multinational packaging company.

Job Description

About the Opportunity:

Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking a full-time summer intern that will commence in May 2025 and will give the selected student a challenging project-based work experience, the opportunity to learn about the Amcor Rigid Packaging business, the packaging industry, and a variety of sustainability facets within the consumer-goods space.

This role will report to Amcor Rigid Packaging’s Sr. Sustainability Manager and have significant exposure to our business and leadership teams. The intern will learn firsthand how a multinational corporation links its sustainability strategy and reporting to customer needs.

Internship Assignments
• Review Amcor’s current sustainability program and communications, along with those of key customers and competitors, to identify best opportunities for adding value
• Provide a comprehensive deep dive into packaging-related legislation and its impact on Amcor, its customers, and its suppliers
• Develop a strategy for embedding sustainability into the culture of Amcor Rigid Packaging, including the creation of a portfolio of tools to assist cross-functional partners

Basic qualifications
• Candidates must be pursuing a graduate degree in business, data analytics, natural resources/environment, and/or sustainability
• Experience managing and analyzing large, complex sets of data
• Experience or interest in corporate communications and/or sustainability reporting

• Strong project management, research and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated/ability to work independently
• A continuous improvement and innovative mindset
