This position will work out of our Abbott Park(Corporate Office), IL or Columbus, OH or Minneapolis, MN location.
The candidate is responsible for solution design, implementation, and operational support of Abbott’sGlobal Network Services.This position will serve as the technical lead for projects involving complex planning for all Abbott network infrastructure including detailed design creation, proposals, analysis, project preparation/implementation/and support. Responsible for timely interaction with customers of the platform, peer technologists, and senior management.
The ideal candidate will have experience inlarge enterprisenetworking including routing, software defined WAN(SD-WAN) , data center networking,load balancing, switching, wireless, firewall controls, security infrastructure, remote access connectivity solutions (Cisco AnyConnect, Zscaler ZPA), network segmentation, DHCP/DNS/IPAM, and Zscaler technologies.
What You’ll Work On

What You’ll Work On
Design large scale enterprise WAN, SD-WANincluding switches, firewalls, and other network related hardwareDesign and continuously improve network monitoring and observability capabilitiesDefine requirements in support of budget plans and make recommendations for ways to improve performance, reduce costs, and meet business requirementsDefines the architecture and hardware requirements for project proposalsIntegrates technical expertise with communication, leadership, and business skills in a team environmentDesign, execute, support day-to-day service requestsLead large scale network refresh projects as well as divisional expansion projectsDesign and manage network capacity and performanceEvaluates and identifies opportunities for network performance and functionality improvement within the enterprise networkParticipate in the development efforts to bring automation into the network environmentResponsible for compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and industry best practicesSuccessfully negotiate technical design and deployment strategy with key stakeholder and consumers of the serviceServe as the platform technical subject matter expert and provide consulting support to the business and end-user organizationsProduce and maintain timely, accurate engineering documentationDesign and management of core services such as DHCP, DNS, IP address management and load balancingPartners with Abbott’s Cybersecurity organization in conducting security and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with corporate security policies and adherence to best practicesPOSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while adhering to deadlinesDemonstrates mastery of the concepts and theory of network security, and possess adept knowledge of data networking, including expertise in switching, routing, directory services, and TCP/IP fundamentalsDemonstrates knowledge of encryption protocols, as well as means for compromising systems based on known vulnerabilitiesDemonstrates a strong customer centric approach and excellent communications skillsResponsible for the global landscape of the Abbott network and security infrastructureKeeps abreast of industry trends and makes architecture roadmaps and or recommendation based on these trendsRequired Skills and Education:
Required: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunication, or other related field – or combination of experience / education.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Telecommunications, Active Certifications (CISSP, CCNP, CCSE, CCIE)
Required experience:
8+ years of Networking experience.8+ years network experience with multinational enterprises of 5000+ users including network designExpertise in designing enterprise scale routing and switching environments, MPLS / VPN, SD-WAN, Cisco ISE and identity/authentication solutions, network topologies, load balancing, QoS, WLAN, firewalls, and Cisco ACIPreferred skills:

The base pay for this position is
$97,300.00 – $194,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
