Health & Safety Specialist

Pennoni is seeking a full-time Health & Safety Specialist in Natick, MA, with responsibilities including program reporting, employee safety training, and incident response. Candidates should have an associate's degree or higher in a related field and at least 5 years of EHS experience. The role may involve fieldwork at client sites in Massachusetts and New England. Preferred qualifications include OSHA credentials and strong organizational skills.
Pennoni is hiring for an experienced EHS [Environmental, Health, & Safety] professional to join our team as a Health & Safety Specialist on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Natick, MA. This person will be assigned to projects at client sites in Massachusetts (especially in the greater Boston region) as well as surrounding areas (including New England States).

Primary Responsibilities
• Assist with program performance reporting and data management.
• Support employee access to safety training and safety equipment (including PPE).
• Oversee administrative workplace incident responses.
• Contribute to writing and reviewing safety procedures (new & existing).
• Respond to employee concerns (when related to Health & Safety).
• Support the development of materials for increased employee awareness and engagement in workplace safety.
• This person may be required to participate in special projects on occasion, which involve field work.
• Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirements
• Associate’s degree (or higher) in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, EHS, Safety Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience working with EHS-related tasks (preferably with OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) responsibilities).
• ASP [Associate Safety Professional] certification, at a minimum (CSP [Certified Safety Professional] and/or CIH [Certified Industrial Hygienist] certifications are preferred).

This person may be expected to work in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver’s License and Reliable Transportation.

Preferred Qualifications
• OSHA credentials (e.g.: OSHA 30-hr Construction Outreach Training; OSHA 500/510; OSHA 501/51; etc.).
• Experience with Health & Safety program reporting / project coordination.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and software, especially Microsoft Office 365 applications (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Proven ability to work independently or in a team environment while demonstrating strong character and dependability.
• Experience reviewing and updating Hazard Communication Plans, Compliance Audits, Safety Training, and Incident Reporting guidelines.
• Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to demonstrate a self-motivated demeanor while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal); public speaking experience is a plus!
