Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role within the Health Department located in Nanyuki. The role involves providing frontline health services, including basic clinical support within scope, health promotion activities, and participation in occupational and community health programs.
Daily tasks may include engaging with community members, addressing health-related inquiries, supporting outreach campaigns, and maintaining accurate records and reports. The role also entails collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting health education initiatives, and helping ensure compliance with relevant health and safety standards. The successful candidate will work closely with supervisors and colleagues to implement health projects, respond to emerging health needs, and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Qualifications
Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written interaction with colleagues, patients, and community members.
Proven Customer Service abilities in a public service or health setting, with a focus on empathy, respect, and responsiveness.
Knowledge of Occupational Health practices, including basic workplace health and safety principles and risk awareness.
Foundational understanding of Medicine or clinical support relevant to community and primary health care services.
Experience or training in Health Promotion, including community outreach, health education, and behavior change communication.
Relevant diploma or degree in Public Health, Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Environmental Health, Health Promotion, or a related field.
Registration with relevant professional bodies (where applicable) and current practicing license, if required by role level.
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
Basic proficiency with office and health information systems for documentation, reporting, and data entry.
Prior experience in a county or public health environment in Kenya is an added advantage.
