Harvey Conservation Corps

AmeriCorps is seeking members for the Harvey Conservation Corps in Flossmoor, IL. Responsibilities include supporting community gardens, urban farms, maintaining trails, and promoting environmental stewardship. Members will also design green spaces and care for public lands. Benefits include a stipend, childcare assistance, and an education award. The position allows for other employment and school attendance during off hours.
Harvey Conservation Corps

The AmeriCorps members will take responsibility for supporting community gardens, urban farms and healthy green streetscapes; creating and maintaining trails in nearby parks and forest preserves; helping residents with both environmental stewardship and health education around nature, connecting Harvey students with nature; and maintaining and improving public lands. Member Duties : 1. Greening vacant lots and caring for street trees 2. Designing informal green spaces a. Creating /maintaining nature trails in public lands around the South Suburbs 3. Working in urban farms and community garden

Program Benefits : Stipend , Childcare assistance if eligible , Education award upon successful completion of service .
