Job Description
The Harvard Center for Green Buildings and Cities is seeking a CGBC Fellow with a Ph.D. in building sciences for a one-year research and teaching position in Cambridge, MA. Responsibilities include conducting research on energy and ecology in the built environment and teaching two classes at the Graduate School of Design. The role may extend for an additional year and involves collaboration with other researchers.
Research Fellowship in Building Sciences
The Harvard Center for Green Buildings and Cities seeks an early-career researcher with a Ph.D. or Doctorate Degree in building sciences to join our team as a CGBC Fellow.
About the Position
This one-year research and teaching position offers the opportunity to conduct applied and conceptual research on energy and ecology in the built environment, with a possibility of extension for an additional year.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct research related to building sciences at the Center for Green Buildings and Cities
• Teach two classes at the Graduate School of Design
• Develop research projects using resources provided by the center
• Have access to HouseZero and interact with other researchers and scholars within and outside the GSD
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or Doctorate Degree in an area related to building sciences, with research that focuses on various scales.
Additional Requirements
Please submit a statement of teaching philosophy, describing your pedagogical approach and how you would teach students across disciplines and departments in the context of design and/or planning education (no more than two pages).
The selected candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of innovative solutions for sustainable buildings and cities, aligning with the mission of the Harvard Center for Green Buildings and Cities.
