This opportunity entails leading the Green Infrastructure section within the Environmental Design Group for the Wisconsin Office. The role involves overseeing project development and delivery, managing scope, budget, and quality control. It also includes coordinating project priorities, staffing, and staff assignments to ensure clients receive appropriate resources at the right time. The position emphasizes technical coaching, staff development, and efficient utilization of team members.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients such as MMSD, WisDOT, and the City of Milwaukee, with opportunities to engage in projects nationwide.
What You'll Do
• Develop, monitor, and manage the section's operating budget.
• Manage, grow, and mentor the discipline-specific engineering team. Coordinate activities, establish priorities, and ensure staff development and training needs are met.
• Support strategic planning and project pursuit efforts, including developing section-level strategies.
• Assist in project delivery and contracting activities, including scope, work plan, and fee reviews.
• Implement project management processes to ensure quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
• Contribute to marketing efforts such as client discovery, proposals, and interviews.
• Maintain client relationships to ensure satisfaction.
• Recruit, hire, develop, and retain staff, including performance and compensation reviews.
• Manage project activities related to scope, schedule, budget, and quality, and perform technical tasks like research, design, and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 8 years of practical experience, including 2 years of leadership experience.
What We Prefer
• Experience with MMSD, WisDOT, or the City of Milwaukee.
• Master's degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years of practical experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
