Job Description

Verdantas is seeking a Civil Engineer to support geotechnical design projects by assisting with investigations, data analysis, and site inspections. This role involves preparing plans, reports, and cost estimates, performing lab testing, and contributing to the design of foundations, roadways, and earthen structures—all while building strong technical and communication skills. This position is located in Wilmington, DE.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the investigation and design of building foundations, earthen structures, and roadways
• Collect and help interpret data through research, file reviews, field observations and measurements, field testing, and other methods
• Assist in preparing detailed plans, technical specifications, and reports
• Perform computations and process data using computer software or other established methods
• Perform geotechnical laboratory analysis at our on-campus laboratory
• Observe and document field activities and prepare construction documentation reports
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for design implementation
• Perform site inspections under the supervision of senior engineers
• Demonstrate strong technical writing and communication skills

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution, with a preference for a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, particularly with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience
• CAD experience is a plus
• Strong calculation skills
• The ability to interpret work plans
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen post offer

Salary Range

The compensation range starts at $65,000 and is based on the position, experience, and licensure.
