SUMMARY
Green Infrastructure Partners Inc. (GIP) is looking for a Heavy Civil Superintendent responsible for Roads & Highways — a proven field leader who takes pride in building work the right way, the first time, and who thrives in a high‑performance, operations‑driven environment.

This is a non‑unionized leadership role that works closely and effectively with unionized trades, inspectors, and agencies across provincial and municipal projects.

As Roads & Highways Superintendent, you are accountable for field execution—from pre‑planning through completion—across multiple crews, sites, and scopes. You will lead high‑volume, self‑performed work while partnering closely with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to deliver safe, high‑quality, and profitable outcomes.

This role is well‑suited to superintendents who have built their careers at integrated, self‑performing contractors and are looking to be part of a growing organization with momentum.

PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE
FIELD LEADERSHIP & EXECUTION

Lead daily field operations across road and highway projects, including grading, granulars, paving support, drainage, structures interfaces, and traffic staging. Plan, organize, and supervise multiple crews and sites with varying durations, volumes, and complexity. Allocate labour, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity while maintaining safety and quality. Maintain a strong field presence—leading from the front and setting the standard for execution. PRE‑PLANNING & “RIGHT‑FIRST‑TIME” DELIVERY
Drive disciplined pre‑planning, including look‑ahead schedules, sequencing, traffic control staging, utility coordination, and constraint management. Anticipate challenges using 10+ years of lived experience delivering work in provincial, municipal, and regional environments. Partner with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to ensure scope, schedule, permits, inspections, and changes are aligned before work starts. QUALITY & SPECIFICATIONS
Ensure all work meets provincial (MTO), municipal, and regional specifications and contract requirements. Inspect work in progress and at completion to confirm conformance and prevent rework. Reinforce a culture where quality is built into the plan—not inspected in later. SAFETY, PUBLIC INTERFACE & SUSTAINABILITY
Lead safety for all stakeholders—employees, subcontractors, inspectors, and the travelling public. Conduct daily huddles, FLRAs, toolbox talks, and enforce stop‑work authority when required. Represent GIP professionally with municipalities, inspectors, and the public. Champion sustainable construction practices that reduce waste, improve efficiency, and protect communities. FINANCIAL & SCHEDULE ACCOUNTABILITY
Understand and actively manage cost drivers including labour productivity, equipment utilization, trucking cycles, and sequencing. Support accurate forecasting, cost‑to‑complete, and schedule recovery planning. Drive short‑interval planning and execution discipline to protect milestones and margins. PEOPLE & TEAM LEADERSHIP
Lead, mentor, and develop forepersons and crews in a non‑union environment that collaborates daily with unionized partners. Participate in hiring, performance management, and corrective action when required. Build a culture of accountability, respect, and pride in workmanship. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
10+ years of progressive experience delivering road and highway construction in Ontario. Proven experience on MTO and municipal projects. Strong understanding of provincial, municipal, and regional specifications. Demonstrated success leading high‑volume, self‑performed operations. Strong safety leadership and practical financial acumen. Comfortable working in a non‑union environment alongside unionized trades. Clear communicator with the ability to earn trust from crews, clients, and inspectors. AFP / P3 or Design‑Build experience is an asset. WHAT WE OFFER
Expected Base Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations. Annual performance-based bonus. Comprehensive group benefits program. Retirement savings program. Career growth and advancement opportunities. DISCLAIMERS
