Job Description

The U.S. Navy is hiring for emergency fire and rescue positions, including Damage Controlmen and Master-at-Arms, based in San Marcos, TX. These roles involve critical first response to emergencies, firefighting, and security duties both at sea and ashore. EMERGENCY, FIRE AND RESCUE JOBS IN THE NAVY
DAMAGE CONTROLMAN

Damage Controlmen are the first responders who are critical to preventing accidents. Trained in firefighting, ship stability and chemical, radiological and biological warfare defense, these Sailors are masters of it all. They also provide training to ensure that all Sailors are prepared for an emergency, since all engineers are trained as first responders and attend additional training (BECC-Basic Engineering Common Core) on the first line of defense when it comes to fires, flooding, and CBR attacks.

MASTER-AT-ARMS

Provide security on ships, at bases and at military installations all around the world. Whether executing crime prevention programs or carrying out anti-terrorism measures, the Sailors working as the Navy’s military police are equipped to handle any situation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Depending on the role, Sailors in this career field perform duties at sea and ashore around the world.

PART-TIME OPPORTUNITIES

Serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Sailor, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Sailors in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.
