Annual Pay Range: $58,656 Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The position (K0247628)

Provide epidemiological and evaluation support to the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) units within the Bureau of Public Health Services. Specifically, provide local agency workforce and caseload data to the Fiscal Operations Unit, and create local agency level salary, caseload, and participation comparisons.Compile and provide data on food benefits utilization to the Food Operations Unit, including reports on food deserts, food costs and purchases, staffing, and participation in state versus federal service programs. Compile reports and data on client characteristics, breastfeeding, and staffing for the Nutrition and Client Services Unit, including information on benefits redemption, appointments, education, caseloads, and client demographics and health.

Provide epidemiological and evaluation support to the Health Integration and Promotion program (HIP) within the Bureau of Health Promotion, specifically supporting Community Health Worker activities for the Rural Health Transformation initiative.Supports assessment and monitoring of program activities to identify and address problems and for priority setting, planning and policy development. Assists with developing frameworks, methodologies, and tools for standardized data. Develop and conduct epidemiological studies for program planning or to address important and practical public health problems. Conducts advanced descriptive and comprehensive analyses of primary and secondary epidemiological data, Interprets, and prepares reports to address state- and local-specific knowledge-based gaps and trend information for use in policy and program development. Produces issue- and population-specific fact sheets, briefs, and other reports that are disseminated to provider associations, elected officials, and community organizations.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Provide epidemiological and evaluation support to the Re-Engagement to Care and Outreach for Persons with HIV in Rural Communities (REACH) Rural Re-Engagement and Care using CHWs for Persons with HIV program within the Health Integration and Promotion program (HIP) in the Bureau of Health Promotion.Evaluates the effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of personal health and population-based services. Compile CHW tracking data for reporting.Support compilation and reporting of data collected as a part of HIV care services facilitated by program CHWs.

Qualifications

Education:High School, GED Licensing & Certification:Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State Minimum Qualifications: MPH/MS degree + entry level knowledge of epidemiology Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access Proofreading, editing, attention to detail Scientific report writing, epidemiologic data analysis Fluency in analysis of health risk surveillance data Knowledge of program evaluation methodologies and data analysis Ability to derive concepts of causality or epidemiologic association from data Ability to plan and conduct epidemiologic/survey projects Knowledge of public health law and regulation principles Experience with clinical, translational, health services research Ability to develop proposals for program interventions Preferred Qualifications: MPH/MS in Epidemiology Epidemiology or related field Fluency in using SAS or R, experience with EHRs Epidemiology experience in state health agency Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas.
