About the position
Environmental Restoration, LLC is seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team in Virginia. This position involves assisting with hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling hazardous materials. As an employee-owned and operated company, we prioritize a positive and safe work environment, where health and safety are our number one goals. We follow the PROS protocol: Pause, Review, Observe, Start, to ensure that all safety measures are adhered to during operations. The role requires performing both non-emergency and emergency response activities that deal with biological and chemical materials. The technician will engage in labor-intensive activities in various weather conditions and will be required to work in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces, and at heights. The position also involves operating light and heavy equipment, including skid steers and forklifts, and performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment. Additionally, warehouse maintenance, stock supply management, and building maintenance are part of the responsibilities. Candidates must be available for emergency response work after hours and on weekends, and frequent travel is required. A clean driving history is essential, and applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and physical exam. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to obtain OSHA (40-hour) certification and must be able to work in a physically intensive role, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Environmental experience, hazardous waste experience, and certifications such as OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER, CDL, and heavy equipment operation are advantageous.
Responsibilities
• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following PROS - Pause, Review, Observe, Start
,
• Performs non-emergency and emergency response activities that deal with biological and chemical materials
,
• Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions throughout the shift
,
• Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights
,
• Operates light and heavy equipment including skid steers, forklifts, pressure washer
,
• Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment
,
• Handles warehouse maintenance, stock supplies, and building maintenance
,
• Available for emergency response work after-hours and on weekends
,
• Maintains an excellent driving history
Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent
,
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and physical exam
,
• Legally eligible to work in the United States (Verified through E-Verify)
,
• Willingness to obtain OSHA (40 hour) Certification
,
• Ability to work on an on-call basis as business needs require
,
• Ability and willingness to work in a physically intensive role
,
• Ability to work in confined spaces
,
• Ability to wear a respirator
,
• Regularly lift and carry 50 pounds
,
• Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments
