Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Licensing & Permitting (ESLP) group, you will be responsible for facilitating environmental permitting of projects, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and advancing the overall environmental policy of National Grid.
Key Responsibilities
• Facilitate environmental permitting of projects to ensure timely completion and minimize operational risks
• Develop and implement innovative environmental permitting strategies to maximize regulatory compliance while minimizing costs
• Provide technical and regulatory guidance to internal stakeholders on environmental requirements and best practices
• Manage consultants and contractors in securing necessary permits and approvals
• Anticipate and track emerging environmental regulations to minimize economic and operational impact on National Grid
Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental licensing & permitting regulations in New England
• Minimum 7+ years of experience conducting or overseeing environmental permitting in New England, preferably related to utility operations
• Strong track record of developing innovative environmental permitting and compliance strategies
• Demonstrated record of professional respect and credibility among regulatory, legislative, and stakeholder groups
