Job Description
McConnell Dowell is seeking an Environmental & Sustainability Advisor in Adelaide, SA, to support environmental and sustainability requirements for a major water and sewerage project. Responsibilities include obtaining permits, ensuring environmentally safe practices, conducting site inspections, and providing technical advice. Candidates should have a relevant tertiary qualification and at least two years of experience in civil construction. The role offers opportunities for career development and regional travel.
McConnell Dowell Diona Joint Venture (MDJV) is one of three Major Framework Partners working together with our client to deliver a multi-billion Capital Delivery Program to improve water and sewerage services for South Australians.
MJDV are seeking a motivated Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to join our growing team. The role of the Environmental & Sustainability Advisor is to support the delivery of project environmental and sustainability requirements, objectives and targets & promote environmental awareness with project personnel and build a strong environmental culture. You’ll join a highly skilled and dynamic team who care about your development and career progression, understand work-life-balance and enjoy celebrating success. Successful candidate will enjoy a variety of work and regional travel throughout beautiful South Australia.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
• Obtain relevant approvals for permits, permissions and approvals for access or works that affect the environment.
• Ensure that environmentally acceptable working methods and practices are implemented to enable operations to be carried out without environmental harm.
• Report, investigate and implement corrective and/or preventive actions resulting from identification of environmental hazards and incidents within the agreed timescale.
• Provide support to Framework outputs for environmental incident investigations,including reporting and close out of corrective actions.
• Provide staff and workers with adequate environmental knowledge, skills and behaviours to work in an environmentally responsible manner at all times.
• Provide technical environmental advice to onsite H&S Advisors, crews and Framework staff.
• Environmental site inspections carried out weekly and recorded
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant environmental field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a civil construction environment.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
