Job Description
Teal Energi is seeking an Environmental Specialist in North Dakota to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, assist with permitting, and support various environmental programs. Responsibilities include data management, auditing, and operational support in collaboration with teams. Candidates should have a degree in Environmental Science or related fields, preferably with experience in oil and gas. The role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to travel as needed.
Job Duties
Environmental Compliance & Reporting
Support compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and company policies
Assist with Title V and NSR permitting, including required reporting and certifications
Gather and manage data for regulatory programs (e.g., CERCLA, EPCRA, SARA, LDAR, GHG)
Support SPCC compliance, including spill response, remediation, and reporting
Program Support & Auditing
Assist in implementing and maintaining environmental programs and procedures
Participate in compliance audits and support corrective actions
Maintain organized environmental records and documentation
Communicate updates on compliance status and environmental performance
Operational Support
Partner with operations and maintenance teams to integrate environmental best practices
Assist with environmental reviews and permitting for projects
Support waste management and remediation activities
Act as a point of contact for regulatory interactions and inspections
Develop knowledge of natural gas processing and compression operations
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent)
Entry-level candidates welcome; senior consideration for 7+ years of experience
Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or consulting environments
Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance processes
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and ability to work collaboratively
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Ability to travel overnight as needed
Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Reliable attendance and commitment to safety
Physical requirements

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
