Environmental Specialist

Guidehouse seeks an Environmental Specialist in Toney, AL, to support environmental compliance through inspections, audits, and guidance on regulations related to hazardous waste and air/water quality. Candidates require a Bachelor's in Environmental Science, three years of experience, and the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. The role involves data analysis and policy development to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

What You Will Do:

Supports environmental compliance programs by conducting inspections, audits, and staff assistance visits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Provides guidance on environmental requirements related to hazardous waste, air quality, water quality, and permitting programs, including RCRA, Title V, and NPDES. Performs routine facility inspections, identifies compliance issues, and recommends corrective actions to support operational and regulatory requirements.

Assists with internal and external audits, including ISO 14001, EPAS, EPA, and state regulatory inspections. Collects environmental samples, analyzes data, and recommends process improvements to reduce waste and minimize hazardous material use. Maintains hazardous material and waste records, supports environmental policy development, and provides technical guidance to protect natural resources, public safety, and the organization's mission.


What You Will Need:

An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
o Prior to onboarding with Guidehouse, new hire MUST be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "TOP SECRET" security clearance

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or similar

THREE (3) or more years experience in environmental compliance
