Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Specialist to join our team in Idaho Falls. As an Environmental Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting site inspections and ensuring that proposed project actions comply with environmental laws and regulations.
About the Role
This is a temporary full-time position with 100% travel required. You will work on projects nationwide, providing technical expertise to assist with floodplain and wetland issues. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct site inspections, assess potential impacts to species and habitat, and prepare reports as required.
Responsibilities
• Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
• Assess potential impacts to species and habitat on projects.
• Prepare reports, including No Effect memos, biological assessments, and surveys.
• Provide technical expertise to support documentation needed for Executive Orders 11988 and 11990.
• May coordinate and complete site inspections to validate damage and record data.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
• A Bachelor's degree in environmental science, planning, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of in-field experience.
• Domestic travel is required.
