Job Overview
Join the RSCS Environmental and Engineering group and work on some of the most technically interesting and consequential environmental projects in the country. We are seeking an Environmental Scientist or Environmental Engineer to join our close‑knit, collaborative team and support work at active and decommissioned nuclear power plants nationwide. This job is based in Seabrook, NH.

In this role, you will be directly involved in hands‑on field and analytical work, including the collection and evaluation of environmental samples such as soil, groundwater, surface water, precipitation, and vegetation. You will apply your interest in earth science and environmental processes to understand contaminant behavior, site conditions, and regulatory requirements, while expanding your knowledge of nuclear facility operations, decommissioning, and environmental protection.

In addition to technical capability, this position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will help translate technical data into clear, well‑organized reports and effectively communicate findings to project teams, clients, and regulators. Duties

· Prepare and contribute to environmental permitting and compliance documents (e.g., NEPA evaluations, environmental assessments, technical memoranda, permit applications)

· Perform technical analyses related to environmental impacts, site conditions, and regulatory requirements

· Summarize and interpret environmental data (chemical, geological, hydrological, or site characterization data) in the context of relevant regulatory criteria

· Support industrial operations, decommissioning, remediation, and site characterization activities including sampling environmental media

· Coordinate with engineering and project management staff to integrate environmental requirements into project execution

· Work closely with GIS Analysts to ensure field collected data is digitized and review GIS output for inclusion in technical documents.

· Participate in client meetings and support regulatory interactions

· Review work products prepared by junior staff for technical quality and clarity

· Occasional field work and travel may be required up to 25-35% of the month

· Other duties as assigned.

Skills

· Strong technical writing skills with demonstrated experience producing formal reports and regulatory documentation

· Solid understanding of federal and state environmental regulations

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Compliance with company and client fitness-for-duty requirements

· Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

· Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams to efficiently manage documentation, data analysis, collaboration, and communication tasks.

Required Education, Experience, Certification and Licenses:

· Bachelor’s degree (BS) or Master’s degree required. Focus in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Hydrogeology or a related technical discipline preferred

· 5–8 years of relevant environmental experience (regulated industry or nuclear power experience preferred)

· Experience applying GIS and/or digital twins in technical deliverables or projects

· Professional Certification or licensure (LEP, LSP, PE, PG, LPG) preferred

· Familiarity with NRC, DOE, or state environmental agencies

· Experience with: supporting nuclear power and/or decommissioning projects; environmental sampling, dewatering, site characterization, and remediation projects; industrial dewatering testing and design; and/or applied geophysics for subsurface characterization preferred

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
