Job Description
The Department of Water Resources is seeking an Environmental Scientist for its Northern Region Office in Tehama, CA. The role involves conducting environmental research, preparing compliance documentation, and managing grants. This is a permanent, full-time position with a hybrid telework option. DWR’s Northern Region Office is looking for an Environmental Scientist to join its team of professionals dedicated to supporting programs and partners across Northern California. Duties will include performing complex environmental research, surveys, investigations, and analyses; preparing technical and environmental compliance documentation; coordinating recreation surveys and assisting with electrofishing at three Upper Feather River Lakes and streams; managing grants; and assisting other DWR offices and partner agencies/organizations with work in the Northern Region.

Special Requirements
This position requires possession of a valid California Driver's License. This position may require the possession of a valid Scientific Collecting Permit from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and a California Boater Card from the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways.

• Describe your knowledge and experience in writing scientific/technical reports, biological resource assessments, CEQA documents, and environmental permit applications.
