Job Description

Resource Options Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist with 3-8 years of experience for their Bridgewater, NJ location. The role involves approximately 70% office work and 30% field/onsite activities, including site investigations and environmental reporting. Candidates should have a relevant degree and strong field investigation skills. Opportunities for advancement are available, and the position does not require overnight travel. Salary ranges from $60,000 to $90,000 based on experience.
The Environmental Scientist position offers a motivated professional with 3–8 years of experience the opportunity to join a rapidly growing environmental consulting and remediation team. This role provides a balance of office responsibilities (approximately 70%) and field/onsite work and travel (approximately 30%), offering exposure to a wide range of project types and client industries in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Opportunities for advancement include Senior Environmental Scientist and Project Manager. This position does not require overnight travel.

Key Responsibilities:

In the Field:




Conduct Phase I/II ESA site investigations



Oversee field sampling programs (soil, groundwater, vapor, sediment)



Participate in environmental remediation and construction oversight activities



Prepare and maintain daily field logs and documentation



Ensure compliance with site safety and regulatory requirements



Coordinate with subcontractors, project teams, and site personnel



Operate field instruments and sampling equipment



In the Office:




Support project planning, scope development, and budget tracking



Assist with environmental reporting and regulatory submittals (NJDEP and related programs)



Analyze and manage environmental data; prepare figures, maps, and summary tables



Draft technical reports including investigation summaries and remediation documentation



Support project scheduling and logistics



Assist with proposal preparation and client communication



Develop and expand knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards



Qualifications:




3 to 8 years of environmental consulting or related experience



B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related discipline



Strong field investigation background and regulatory familiarity (NJ experience preferred)



Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills



Proficient with Microsoft Office; GIS/CADD experience a plus



Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record




Pay Range: $60,000 - $90,000 Commensurate with Experience.
