New Mexico Staffing is hiring an Environmental Remediation Technician for their El Paso, TX office. The role requires 5 years of experience in remediation systems or an engineering degree with 2 years of experience. Responsibilities include supporting groundwater treatment operations, conducting soil and groundwater sampling, and field documentation. The position involves routine travel and physical work. WSP is currently recruiting for an Environmental Remediation Technician to support our Texas remediation services team. The position will be tied to our El Paso, Texas office but we will consider staff living in the Texas Panhandle, Permian Basin area or other locations in West Texas or Eastern New Mexico. The ideal candidate will have 5 years' proven experience in performing troubleshooting, repair and upgrades of existing remediation systems as well as experience with groundwater monitoring and soil sampling programs. Alternatively, a degree in engineering and two years of experience with remediation systems will be considered. Your impact will include:
Supporting groundwater treatment system operations and maintenance.Assisting with the implementation of environmental soil and groundwater sampling programs.Field documentation - daily field notes, monitoring logs, O&M inspection logs, entry of data into spreadsheets and/or tablets.Routine travel and physical field work required collecting samples, moving pumps and hoses, etc.Other duties as assigned by Environmental Leads.Required qualifications include:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.Minimum 5 years proven experience in performing troubleshooting, repair and upgrades of existing remediation systems as well as experience with groundwater monitoring and soil sampling programs.Or an engineering degree and 2 years' experience conducting system operations and/or monitoring.Ability to multi-task and prioritize evolving project requirements for multiple ongoing projects.Able to work in a high-pressure environment with tight delivery deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work independently and properly document field data.Proven communication skills.Team oriented.Detail oriented.You are able to lift 50 lbs, and conduct other physically strenuous tasks such as removing pumps, etc.Experience working with MS Word, Excel, and all programs under MS Office.Valid driver's license.Ability to work independently.Travel will be approximately 50-75%.WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
