Kimley-Horn is seeking a recent graduate for the position of Environmental Planning Analyst in Nashville, TN, starting in 2026. Overview



Kimley-Horn's Nashville, TN office is seeking a recent grad to join as an Environmental Planning Analyst in 2026! This is not a remote position.



Responsibilities




Assist in the preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents, including Categorical Exclusions (CEs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), Environmental Impact Statements (EISs).


Conduct research and gather data to support environmental analysis.


Assist in the coordination of public involvement activities, including public meetings and hearings.


Prepare and submit NEPA-related documents to the relevant federal government agencies in a timely manner.


Collaborate with team members to develop innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges.


Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to streamline the NEPA process and improve project delivery timelines.


Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.




Qualifications




A Degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program by Summer of 2026 in one of the followin relevant majors:


Environmental Science/Sustainability/Management


City and Regional Planning


Urban Planning


Or Other Related Major


Knowledge of NEPA regulations and processes is preferred (not required).


Familiarity with software and tools, such as ArcGIS and the Microsoft Office Suite.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Technical writing background preferred.


Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.


Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
