Conduct routine and specialized inspections of public facilities, food establishments, and other locations to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations.
Investigate complaints and potential health hazards, and take appropriate action to address and resolve any issues.
Enforce environmental health laws and regulations by issuing citations, fines, or other penalties as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions.
Serve as a subject matter expert on environmental health laws, regulations, and policies to provide guidance and support to other team members.
Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to promote and improve environmental health practices and policies.
Stay up-to-date on new and emerging environmental health issues and regulations, and make recommendations for incorporating these changes into current practices.
Provide education and outreach to the public on environmental health topics, such as food safety, water quality, and air pollution.
Assist in the development and implementation of environmental health programs and initiatives.
Conduct research and gather data to support environmental health initiatives and policy development.
Participate in trainings and professional development opportunities to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills.
Maintain a professional and courteous attitude while interacting with the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
Comply with all safety regulations and protocols to ensure personal and public safety.
Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.
