Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Ascend Organisation is seeking a full-time, on-site Environmental Health Safety Specialist in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for an Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Specialist. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, developing and implementing workplace safety policies, conducting safety trainings, and identifying potential hazards. The role also entails promoting a safe work environment by monitoring and improving occupational health practices and environmental safety standards.

Expertise in Health & Safety and Occupational Health managementStrong understanding of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) principles and practicesExperience in Workplace Safety and hazard identificationAbility to design and deliver effective Safety Training programsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of local safety regulations and compliance requirementsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsBachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field is preferredRelevant certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are a plus
