Job Description
Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Field Technician in Cherry Point, NC. The role involves groundwater sampling, operating environmental remediation systems, maintaining equipment logs, and performing general labor. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1-3+ years of relevant experience, with outdoor work required in all weather conditions. Benefits include medical, dental, and tuition assistance. Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader with a reputation for excellence in providing environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services to clients in diverse market sectors, seeks an Environmental Field Technician in Cherry Point, North Carolina.
Responsibilities:
• Performs groundwater-sampling duties.
• Handles operations and maintenance duties for environmental remediation systems.
• Records field notes for each specific task performed.
• Maintains equipment calibration logs.
• Performs general labor and construction activities.
• Handles other related duties assigned by the Field Services Manager.
• Follows GES engineering, construction, and O&M policies and procedures.
• Adheres to GES Health & Safety Standards in all field-related activities.
Skills & Requirements:
• This position requires outdoor work, in all weather conditions, on a military base.
• A High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3+ years of related work experience. Previous experience performing fieldwork in the environmental consulting industry is highly desired.
• Electrical experience (installations, maintenance and/or repairs) is a plus, but not required to be considered.
• Previous military experience and/or experience working on the Cherry Point Military base is a plus.
• Electrical experience, mechanical skills, and/or a CDL license is a plus.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
