About the position

ERG is a research and consulting firm that provides a wide range of support to federal, state, and commercial clients. We are seeking an Environmental Economist to support our work for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Office of Research and Development. This role involves providing research support on various projects, including assessing national-scale damages associated with climate change impacts across diverse sectors of the economy, developing frameworks for damage functions, and evaluating the costs of adaptation to climate change. The position will also focus on analyzing environmental justice implications of decisions, evaluating remediation measures for contaminated groundwater, and assessing the sustainability of drinking water systems. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and possess the ability to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role requires literature reviews on topics related to climate change damage functions and environmental justice, as well as the development of visual data displays and significant report writing and editing. Collaboration with employees from related disciplines will be frequent, and data analysis and interpretation of scientific results will be required for some projects. Responsibilities

Requirements
• Ph.D. degree with 0 to 10 years of experience or a master's degree plus ten years of experience.

• Master's or doctoral degree in economics, environmental economics, resource economics, or a closely related field.

• Strong written communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
,
• Applied experience with qualitative and quantitative research activities in an academic or professional setting.

• Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks effectively.
,
• Background in the economics of environmental decisions within the United States.

• Experience developing written products for technical and non-technical audiences.
