MPS Group, Inc. is hiring an Environmental Coordinator for its Toledo, OH facility. MPS Group is seeking a dedicated Environmental Coordinator to join our team at the Stellantis Toledo Assembly facility in Toledo, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of waste management operations, including waste collection, recycling, and disposal. This position is integral to ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, supporting sustainability efforts, and helping the facility meet its waste reduction and recycling goals. The Environmental Coordinator will also engage with clients and vendors to ensure efficient operations and foster continuous improvement.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:
• Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and supervisors regarding any changes or discrepancies in contract or subcontract requirements.
• Oversee the in-plant waste management systems, ensuring that waste is properly sorted, collected, and disposed of in compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate the scheduling and pickup of waste for third-party disposal, ensuring timely and efficient waste removal.
• Evaluate various waste streams to determine opportunities for recycling and pollution prevention.
• Collect, transport, and segregate recyclables and hazardous waste from different locations within the facility.
• Support waste reduction and cost-saving initiatives, including increasing recycling rates and minimizing landfill waste.
• Assist with the organization and collection of shipping paperwork related to waste and recyclables.
• Document and report any contamination found in the plant’s recycling stream and notify management accordingly.
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of data into the Waste Compliance System (WCS) on a monthly basis.
• Prepare all regulatory or customer-specific waste shipment documentation as required.
• Conduct inspections of waste collection areas (satellite and 90-day accumulation areas) to ensure compliance with RCRA regulations.
• Provide training for client personnel on best waste management practices, regulatory guidelines, and proper procedures for waste handling.
• Coordinate with customer environmental staff to understand facility priorities and provide support for waste management initiatives.
• Help evaluate customer processes to identify and recommend opportunities for waste reduction or elimination.
• Deliver spill clean-up materials as requested and assist with the containment and collection of spill-related waste.
• Assist in the collection and management of waste generated by spills, ensuring compliance with prescribed procedures.
• Assist with the management of all waste streams (excluding scrap metal), including general plant trash, mixed debris, hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with all waste management regulations and company standards.

Requirements and Qualifications:
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in waste or 2-year college degree.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
• 40-hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Material regulations.
• Familiarity with RCRA Hazardous Waste requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for data management, reporting, and communication.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical procedures, professional journals, and government regulations.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and perform tasks for extended periods of time.
• Must be comfortable working in an industrial environment, with potential exposure to hazardous materials and varying temperatures.
