Job Description

The Delaware Dept of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is hiring an Environmental Control Specialist - Wetlands Field Biologist for a seasonal role lasting approximately 8 months. The position involves fieldwork in wetland assessments and monitoring, including site visits and data collection, as well as office tasks like data entry and GIS work. The job allows for remote work options.
This seasonal position runs roughly 8 months from May through the end of January (exact start date and end dates are flexible). The technician will be an integral addition to a small wetland monitoring and assessment team. This position will help develop a screening protocol to evaluate potential tidal wetland restoration projects using dredge material. This includes pilot testing the protocol in multiple locations. Field Work will include wetland site visits by foot and boat in the Inland Bays as part of a field crew to collect data on wetland vegetation, elevation, and hydrology. Office work will include data entry, using GIS, compiling and evaluating technical data, and scientific writing.
