Amazon is hiring an Environmental Attorney for Sustainable Design in Seattle, WA, to support AWS's legal team. We are seeking an experienced environmental attorney to support Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Seattle. This role will join the AWS Legal Regulatory Risk Management & Compliance team, focusing on environmental compliance and sustainable design of AWS's global physical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Counsel Amazon's data center business and compliance teams on environmental, regulatory, and infrastructure development matters.
• Provide day-to-day advice on compliance issues, monitoring upcoming environmental regulatory changes.
• Develop and improve compliance policies and programs.
• Work cross-functionally with other data center teams to develop new infrastructure.
• Negotiate commercial transactions with environmental vendors.
• Handle legal disputes and inquiries from regulators and other third parties.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of legal experience, including environmental compliance and litigation matters, a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work, experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines, and 6+ years of post-qualification legal experience as a licensed attorney. Previous data center compliance experience is highly valued.
