Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly qualified Environmental Litigation Associate with 2-4 years of experience in environmental law to join its Century City office. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex environmental and commercial litigation, including matters related to CERCLA, Proposition 65, and the Clean Air Act. Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills are essential, along with a proven ability to draft discovery and substantive motions in both federal and state courts. Prior experience with large cases or at a major law firm is preferred.
Location:
• Los Angeles, CA

Duties:
• Handle complex environmental and commercial litigation matters, including CERCLA, Proposition 65, and the Clean Air Act.
• Draft discovery requests, responses, and substantive motions for both federal and state courts.
• Participate in oral advocacy and represent clients in legal proceedings.
• Conduct thorough legal research and provide strategic legal counsel.
• Collaborate with team members, including senior attorneys and partners, to manage case work and client relations.
• Support in preparation for hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.

Requirements:
• 2-4 years of experience in environmental and commercial litigation.
• Experience in CERCLA, Proposition 65, Clean Air Act, or similar environmental statutes.
• Strong academic credentials and a proven track record of legal research, writing, and advocacy.
• Ability to draft complex motions and discovery documents for both federal and state courts.
• Prior experience with large cases or at a prestigious law firm is preferred.
• Active California State Bar membership is required.

Education:
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
• Admitted to practice in California.

Skills:
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong understanding of environmental laws, including CERCLA, Proposition 65, and the Clean Air Act.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
