INTEC Energy Solutions is seeking an Environmental Advisor for a BESS project in Woolooga, Australia. The role involves overseeing environmental management on-site, ensuring compliance with Australian laws and ISO 14001 standards, conducting audits, and liaising with regulatory bodies. Candidates should have a relevant tertiary qualification and 2-5 years of experience in environmental compliance, particularly in renewable energy. We’re looking for a Environmental Advisor to support a BESS project in Woolooga , Australia. This role offers the opportunity to work on a large-scale renewable energy project while ensuring environmental best practices are upheld.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to: Oversee environmental management on-site, ensuring the project meets Australian environmental laws and ISO 14001 standards. Develop and implement Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) to drive best practices.Carry out regular environmental audits and site inspections to assess air and water quality, noise levels, dust control, waste management, and pollution risks. Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.Act as the key environmental liaison, working with government agencies, the EPA, local councils, Indigenous groups, and contractors to secure permits and ensure compliance.Implement waste and resource recovery plans, manage erosion and sediment control, and ensure biodiversity conservation efforts, including habitat protection and vegetation management.Promote sustainability on-site by leading training sessions, toolbox talks, and providing expert guidance on environmental compliance and best practices.Prepare environmental reports, impact assessments, and compliance documentation. Track and analyse trends, contributing to sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives.
Qualifications and experience: A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field.2-5 years of experience in environmental compliance within renewable energy, construction, infrastructure, or mining projects. Experience in solar or battery storage projects is highly regarded.A solid understanding of Australian environmental laws and regulations, including the EPBC Act 1999, NEPMs, ISO 14001, and WHS environmental obligations.Hands-on experience conducting environmental audits, site assessments, and monitoring programs. Ability to interpret environmental data, generate compliance reports, and use of GIS mapping or monitoring tools is a plus.Proven ability to liaise with regulatory authorities, local communities, and project teams. Strong communication skills to provide environmental guidance and reporting.
