About the Role:
As an Environment Specialist within the manufacturing industry in Georgia, GA, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations comply with environmental regulations and sustainability standards. Your primary focus will be to develop, implement, and monitor environmental programs that minimize the ecological impact of manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify environmental risks and opportunities for improvement, driving initiatives that promote resource efficiency and waste reduction.
This role requires continuous assessment of environmental performance and reporting to both internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable manufacturing practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance or sustainability within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations such as EPA standards, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and waste management laws.
Experience conducting environmental audits and preparing regulatory reports.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and regulatory agencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
Professional certification such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or Registered Environmental Manager (REM).
Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems implementation and auditing.
Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and reporting standards such as GRI or CDP.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial technologies.
Responsibilities:
Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Develop and implement environmental management systems and sustainability initiatives tailored to manufacturing operations.
Monitor waste management, emissions, and resource consumption, recommending corrective actions as needed.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and safety teams to integrate environmental considerations into operational processes.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation for regulatory agencies and internal leadership on environmental performance and compliance.
Stay current with evolving environmental laws and industry best practices to proactively address compliance and sustainability challenges.
Provide training and guidance to employees on environmental policies and procedures.
