About the position

Thomas & Hutton is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Design Engineer in Training to join our Water/Wastewater group in Mount Pleasant, SC (Charleston). This position is integral to our team, responsible for assisting in the preparation of construction plans, specifications, reports, studies, supporting documentation, cost estimates, and permit applications. The successful candidate will utilize company and industry-accepted standards, methodologies, and guidelines to ensure the quality and compliance of our projects. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the field of environmental design, particularly in water and wastewater systems. As an Entry Level Environmental Design Engineer in Training, you will work closely with experienced engineers and project managers, gaining hands-on experience in the design and implementation of water and wastewater projects. You will be expected to demonstrate a strong interest in these areas and contribute to various project phases, from initial design concepts to final documentation. The position requires a commitment to a regular work schedule, with hours from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Friday. This is a fully on-site position, emphasizing collaboration and teamwork in a dynamic work environment. Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation of construction plans and specifications.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

• Previous internship experience in water/wastewater design or civil site design.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work a regular schedule of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Mon-Thurs and 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM Fri.
