We currently have an opportunity for an Engineering Technician to join our Transportation Team based in our Champaign, IL office. Responsibilities include creating technical drawings for transportation projects for a variety of state and local agencies in Illinois.
Primary Responsibilities
• Works under the direction of civil engineers to create drawings and models following the company’s design standards and utilizing the designated Open Roads Designer (ORD), MicroStation/Geopak, ArcGIS or other designated software.
• Collaborates with engineers and designers to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings
• Prepares drawings for markup and comments
• Assists with the preparation of technical reports, plans, specifications, and supporting documents.
Position Requirements
• A.S. degree in Construction Technology or equivalent experience and the ability to read and understand design plans and specifications is required.
• Ability to create detailed designs using Open Roads Designer (ORD), MicroStation/Geopak, and ArcGIS
• Ability to use MS Office tools (Excel, Word and Outlook).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with other employees to complete projects on-time and within budget.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to project sites and work extended hours are required.
