Job Description

Curtis Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Specialist in Louisiana to support field operations, report preparation, permit applications, and water system management. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, experience with Microsoft Office, and the ability to perform light outdoor labor. Candidates should be organized and able to communicate effectively. The position is full-time with a day shift schedule.
Curtis Environmental Services, Inc (CES) is looking for a self-motivated environmental scientist/technician or engineer to support field operations, report preparation, LPDES/LDH permit applications, discharge monitoring reports, water and sanitary system management, customer assistance, data processing, etc. The applicant must be organized, have experience using Microsoft office, be capable of performing physical (lite) labor outdoors, have experience in preparing various types of resource reports, and will be required to travel locally.

Education:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):
• Assist with the daily management of potable water and wastewater systems in South Louisiana.
• Assist with maintaining compliance for various water and sewer systems.
• Complete discharge monitoring reports as required by the active LPDES permit.
• Complete permit application for new, existing and modified facilities
• Assist the field operations with documentation of field repairs and coordination with sub-contractors to ensure completion of repairs.
• Compile and organize project document files.
• Apply standard field practices and techniques using basic field equipment to collect samples and other data.

Gather and process basic data, scientific documents, and other information collected by others to be used in the preparation of scientific reports.
• Perform technical tasks as required in support of organizational objectives.
• Communicate with regulatory personnel to transmit and receive important project correspondence.
• Ensure compliance with company and other policies and procedures.
• Prepare basic data and laboratory documents.

Required:
• Engineering/Environmental degree or related field
• Ability to communicate effectively with personnel and customers
• Ability to take detailed organized notes
• Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to travel locally
• Permitting and Compliance experience preferred by not required

Schedule:
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday (weekends may be required periodically)
