Job Description

The Energy Transition Accelerator Coordinator at C2ES will support the ETA Coalition's development and operations, focusing on climate action and clean energy transitions in emerging economies. About the position

The Energy Transition Accelerator (ETA) Coordinator will play a pivotal role within the ETA Secretariat team, contributing to the development, launch, and ongoing successful operation of the ETA Coalition. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about climate action and eager to be part of an innovative initiative that aims to catalyze private capital for clean energy transitions in emerging and developing economies. The ETA is a collaborative effort involving the U.S. Department of State, The Rockefeller Foundation, and the Bezos Earth Fund, focusing on generating high-integrity carbon credits and supporting countries in achieving their climate goals under the Paris Agreement. As a member of the ETA Secretariat team, the Coordinator will engage in various activities that include project management, operational support, and strategic engagement with stakeholders. The role requires maintaining work plans, organizing stakeholder consultations, preparing materials for meetings, and tracking engagement with countries and companies. The Coordinator will also contribute to research and technical analysis, helping to inform the development of governance models and pricing strategies for carbon credits. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a diverse range of partners to drive meaningful climate action. The ETA Coordinator will report directly to the ETA Senior Manager and will be an integral part of a small, dedicated team focused on ambitious climate solutions.

Responsibilities
• Support the ETA Partners and Secretariat team in the development of key elements of the ETA.
,
• Maintain ETA workplans, take notes, record decisions, and update progress trackers.
,
• Arrange and support stakeholder consultations to gather perspectives from various organizations.
,
• Prepare slide decks, background documents, and materials for internal and external ETA calls.
,
• Coordinate engagement with countries and companies, including scheduling outreach and tracking participation.
,
• Schedule internal team calls and record and share call notes.
,
• Prepare briefing materials for calls with stakeholders.
,
• Help organize events and meetings with various partners and stakeholders.
,
• Gather data and analysis to estimate the potential supply and demand of ETA credits.
,
• Conduct literature surveys and desk research to inform governance model development for the ETA Coalition.
,
• Research carbon credit pricing options based on existing models.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., economics, environmental or energy policy, environmental studies, political science) and 1-2 years of relevant experience; or at least 5 years of relevant experience.

• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills, including proficiency in compiling and analyzing publicly available data.
,
• Aptitude for assembling cogent, concise, and compelling briefings and presentation materials.
,
• Broad familiarity with climate policy topics such as carbon markets and climate finance.
,
• Highly organized and attentive to detail with strong project management skills.
,
• Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and willing to take initiative as appropriate.
,
• Ability to work quickly and juggle multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.
,
• Working knowledge of Spanish or another foreign language is a plus.

• Experience in project management within the climate or energy sectors.

• Familiarity with voluntary carbon markets and their mechanisms.
