Human Resources and Operations Manager at Go Sustainable Energy, LLC Go Sustainable Energy (Go) is seeking a curious engineer or utility specialist with experience and interest in the electric grid, how it is changing, and the intersection of technology, policy, regulations, market rules, and culture. This person should be seriously motivated to meet the moment and be in the trenches informing regulatory, policy, and market designs in the best interests of customers and competitive markets. Preferred candidates need to be comfortable communicating in formal, high-pressure settings like policy and regulatory hearings to informal settings like professional networking events, to the full spectrum of stakeholders, from highly informed exports to the willfully opposed. This position will primarily support regulatory and policy technical advising through our subsidiary Runnerstone but will also support our Distributed Energy Resource team and utility client work.
We are passionate about learning how complex technical systems work so that we can offer accurate, unbiased information to our clients. We are seeking an engineer or STEM field professional to join our team to work in-office from our Columbus office.

Go serves leading political and regulatory stakeholders, businesses, cities, manufacturers, healthcare systems, and utilities. We consult on electric regulations, energy policy, wholesale electricity markets as well as energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy storage, and energy management.

What’s preferred:
Knowledge of and experience with the US electric grid design, rules, and practices
Specialized knowledge of some aspect of the electric system
Familiarity with wholesale electricity markets
Understanding of retail electric billing practices
Familiarity with customer adoption of emerging technologies
Experience with analyzing large amounts of data.
Comfortable collaborating with non-engineering energy professionals, academics, legal counsel, and policy experts on joint work products.
Education:
Bachelors’ degree required, engineering or STEM field
Policy majors will be considered with relevant STEM coursework or job experience
Graduate degree is a plus
Professional engineer licensure is a plus
What you’ll do:
Directly assist our Runnerstone team with energy policy, regulation, and market design reviews
Follow, investigate, and report on PJM Interconnection committee meetings and rule adoptions
Review and analyze utility filings at utility commissions
Prepare written testimony for relevant cases at utility commissions
Deliver oral testimony at utility commission hearings
Review and analyze energy policy proposals
Perform techno-economic feasibility studies
Prepare energy policy and regulatory memorandums for clients, policymakers, and the public
Reviews policies with an eye on the best interests of energy using customers and for market-based policies
Communicates findings to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders
