QM Environmental is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused ER Technician to support our Emergency Response division. If you’re passionate about environmental protection and emergency management, and want to be part of a company that leads with integrity and purpose, we want to hear from you.

Location: Victoria, BC
What You Will Do:
• Respond to environmental emergencies across diverse locations, including fuel spills and hazardous material incidents.
• Assist in field responses and support the Team Leader during emergency operations.
• Implement health and safety practices at every stage of a response.
• Conduct equipment checks, vehicle maintenance, and site housekeeping.
• Maintain and submit health and safety documentation.
• Support water treatment operations and site administration.
• Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call schedule.
• Contribute to training and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Ensure strict compliance with federal and provincial environmental and HSE regulations.
• Represent QM in a professional, competent, and collaborative manner.

What You Bring:
• Post-secondary education in a related field preferred.
• NFPA 472 (Hazardous Materials Operations Level) certification required.
• Additional assets: NFPA 1006, NFPA 1001, CSO certification, Tank car/truck specialist, Confined Space/Rescue.
• At least 1 year of hazardous materials response or chemical handling experience.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and HSE best practices.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial or construction environments.
• Rope Rescue or Volunteer Firefighting experience is an asset.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Calm under pressure and quick decision-making abilities.
• Willingness to travel and work in various weather conditions.

Pay Rate: $30 - $35 / Hour (Overtime available)
