Clarios is hiring an EHS Technician in Kernersville, NC, responsible for maintaining environmental, health, and safety standards at the plant. About the position

As an EHS Technician at Clarios, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the environmental, health, and safety standards of our plant workforce. Under general supervision, your primary responsibilities will include monitoring and evaluating environmental, health, and safety conditions to ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and governmental standards. You will be responsible for the maintenance of the environmental health, industrial hygiene, and safety programs for the facility, ensuring that all operations align with regulatory requirements and best practices. Your day-to-day activities will involve participating in Housekeeping/5S audits and various projects aimed at improving workplace safety and environmental conditions. You will utilize testing equipment to sample, measure, and evaluate employee exposures to in-plant chemical contaminants, including lead, as well as physical agents such as heat and noise exposure. Additionally, you will oversee the monitoring and recordkeeping of the performance of the plant's exhaust and make-up air ventilation systems, providing analysis to guide process improvements. Managing personal protective equipment, work clothing, and safety equipment programs according to company standards will also be part of your responsibilities. You will administer applicable respiratory protection requirements, including fit testing and respirator distribution when necessary. Conducting compliance and conformance audits as per a schedule set by the EHS Leader will be essential to maintaining safety standards. Staying current with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, industrial hygiene, and safety regulations is vital to your role.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree and 1 year of suggested minimum experience, or 2-year degree and 6 years of suggested minimum experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• LEED Certification is preferred.

• Previous experience with environmental, safety, and/or industrial health programs in a manufacturing environment.
