Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Safety and Environment engineer to lead the EHS activities at our site (Technology Labs in Netanya, Israel). This role provides leadership and technical guidance in order to develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System in order to guarantee full compliance with legal requirements and our corporate EHS standards.

• Manage site EHS programs, including routine risk assessments, facilitating corrective measures as necessary and anticipating program needs based on relevant business conditions and developments.
• Acting with considerable independence, influence site staff activities to ensure site-wide EHS compliance and drive personal ownership and accountability for all employees.
• Ensure facility compliance with local, National and corporate standards and guidelines.
• Develop, implement and maintain site-specific EHS programs including the recognition and reporting of any potential deficient situations/conditions with appropriate corrective actions.
• Interact and communicate with corporate EHS, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Research & Development staff
• Develop and deliver site-specific EHS training to meet facility needs; including regulatory and best management practices.
• Conduct proper investigations to determine root cause for all facility incidents, spills, accidents, near misses, and injuries to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate proper handling and disposition of facility waste materials.
• Advise management on upcoming EHS regulations.
• Assist sales & after sales sites (Local market) as EHS contact to support Accident/incident investigations, to give follow up to EHS initiatives, collect EHS KPIs and to be point of contact in Israel for all EHS related topics.
• Implement EHS initiatives aligned with global MSD and support sales & after sales sites in the country.

Minimum Requirements:
• 5-8 years of experience in a similar role within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in Medical device, Plastic and/or Electronics Industry.
• Practical Engineer certification in related discipline – Must
• Bachelor degree (Engineering, Mechanics, Environmental, Safety, Chemistry) – Big advantage
• Experience in supporting multiple activities/projects and on working with EHS regulatory agencies and Corporate support functions.
• Documented knowledge of country EHS laws and regulatory framework.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• High ethical standards, being a role model of business compliance and integrity.
• Demonstrated analytical and logical problem-solving abilities.
• Flexibility to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to efficiently support the business.
• Fluency in written and spoken English – Must (reporting to global function)
• Fluency in written and spoken Hebrew– Must

Preferred Experience and Skills:
• Relevant professional certification(s) –Certified as Safety Engineer (CSE) certification desirable
• Lean/Six Sigma experience desirable
• Vision and sound judgment; ability to develop strategy and execute tactically
• Robust skills interpreting and applying regulatory frameworks related to EHS matter, ISO, NFPA.
• Strong leadership, change execution, and financial management skills
• Background in production flow in the electronic & high tech industry
