Job Description

Integration Resourcing is hiring an Eco/Environmental Centre Assistant in Cape Town, South Africa. The role involves managing Eco Centre operations, conducting guided tours, and implementing educational programs. Responsibilities include supervising ferry boat operations, staff training, event coordination, and liaising between teams. Candidates should have a qualification in Nature Conservation or related fields, supervisory experience, and strong organizational skills. This is a full-time position.
Introduction We have an opportunity for a passionate Conservation/Environmentalist to assist in the management, supervision and operations of a significant Eco Centre based in Cape Town. You will also be responsible for lock up duty, conducting guided tours and implementation of educational and/or other specific
Duties & Responsibilities Assist in the effective management and supervision of ferry boat operations
Operate and conduct ferry boat tours. Assist in the implementation of the ferry boat skipper’s duty roster. Ensure that safe work practices and standard operational procedures are followed Carry out assigned on site job training and development of subordinate personnel Assist in the guided tours and implementation of educational/ specific programmes within
Conduct guided tours Assist in greeting the schools via introductory presentation Assist with the implementation of educational programmes Assist with the implementation of specific programmes Assist with the development of new programmes Supervising and managing all Eco-Centre operations on weekends and public holidays to ensure a high standard of service and safety.
Allocate duties and staff as per day schedule Co-ordinate events & assistance with special events including after hours. Assist with marketing projects, Handling queries from staff and public. Maintain a professional and subordinate relationship with management at all times. Assist with recordkeeping, data capturing and stock-taking
Liaison between Environmental and Eco-Centre teams


Coordinate conservation-related duties of Field Rangers and ensure the completion of projects Report conservation-related issues identified by Field Rangers to the Nature Conservation Officer Allocate conservation-related duties to Field Rangers as per day schedule
Desired Experience & Qualification Minimum Requirements:
Formal Qualification in Nature Conservation, Environmental Management, Tourism or relevant field. One year in a supervisory position applicable to field Computer literate Skippers license (inland waters) would be an added advantage, not essential Bilingual, preferably in English and Afrikaans. Competencies Required:
Strong organizational skills and must be computer literate Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to convey a message Interpersonal skills and ability to motivate staff while upholding the authority of management. The ability to work within a team as well as independently to take the lead Hands-on, honest and reliable Strong Nature Conservation background with Environmental education knowledge
