Job Description
SDL Solutions is seeking a Day Shift Operative for their Renewable Energy Plant in Chipping Campden, UK. The role involves monitoring and maintaining biomass boiler and machinery, completing maintenance schedules, and ensuring plant efficiency. Full training is provided, with a focus on machine operation and data management. This is a full-time, permanent position with a 12-hour shift pattern and a starting salary of £27,000 per year.
Day Shift Plant Operative - Stanleys Biomass Ltd
Stanleys Biomass Limited, part of SDL Solutions, offers a unique service in the production and supply of renewable energy across the UK. The material created from its forestry, arboricultural and site clearance operations is used in the Biomass boiler where it generates electricity to go back into the Grid. Its energy by-product is used to produce wood pellets for fuel and animal bedding, distributed around the UK.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Full Training provided.
We offer candidates a full training package and career progression.
Monitor and maintain the Biomass boiler, the wood pellet machines and the pellet bagging line, plus all other machinery in the Plant
Monitor the above machinery via the multi-screen computer systems to maintain maximum efficiency and output
Complete maintenance schedules and work on any new installations
Work with other departments to keep the Plant running efficiently
Record relevant Plant and pellet data, including stock usage
Keep all work areas clean and tidy at all times
Comply with all health & safety policies and Company procedures
Wear appropriate PPE at all times
Any other duties required by management on site or at another location
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
We value candidates with a willingness to learn and undertake training, as well as those with suitable skills, experience and qualifications
Essential
Good understanding of machine operation and machine maintenance
Willingness to learn new skills
Good IT skills such as Microsoft word/excel etc
Data recording and screen management
Team player essential and ability to work on your own as necessary
Positive attitude and good communication skills
Work well under times of pressure
Desirable
Recognised mechanical, plumbing or electrical qualifications
Mechanical, plumbing or electrical fault finding
Problem solving skills
Forklift and MEWP ticket
Undertake training courses as necessary
