Job Description

The Conservation Aide 2 - Fisheries position at the Nevada Department of Wildlife involves assisting with conservation projects related to wildlife management and ecology. This seasonal role lasts 3 to 6 months, requiring fieldwork and camping at remote sites. Applicants must have a valid driver's license. Positions are available in Elko, Fallon, Reno, and Winnemucca, and no degree is required.
Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation of the State's natural resources. Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series. Positions perform a variety of duties related to wildlife management, conservation, fish culture and wildlife ecology. Most positions are of a 3 or 6 month duration over the summer and early fall months, working four 10-hour days in the field and camping at remote location sites on the workdays. The Fisheries Management Division has seasonal openings in the Elko, Fallon, Reno, and Winnemucca.
