The Northern Land Council is seeking a Community Impact Specialist in Darwin, NT, Australia. The Northern Land Council (NLC) is an independent statutory authority of the Commonwealth, established under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act (NT) 1976. Our purpose is to serve our constituents who are Traditional Owners (TOs) and other Aboriginal people living in their region.
Job Description
As a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in our Community Planning & Development (CP&D) Program, you will play a key role in delivering meaningful, sustainable development projects that create lasting benefits for communities.
Your Key Responsibilities:
• Support strategic planning, governance, and project management.
• Work closely with Traditional Owner groups to maximize community benefits from land use agreement income.
• Help shape initiatives that create meaningful, lasting change.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Expertise in community engagement and program evaluation, ensuring smooth planning, data collection, and solid financial oversight.
• Able to resolve conflicts, make strategic decisions, and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders—including communities and government bodies.
Salary and Benefits:
• A base salary of $98,720 per annum plus 14.5% superannuation and salary sacrificing up to $15,900 + Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefits up to $2,650 per year.
• District allowance of up to $4,797 per annum for individuals with dependents and $2,630 without dependents.
• 5 weeks annual leave, leaving loading, 18 days personal leave.
• Paid Christmas close down.
• Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $2,961 upon completion of 12 months of service.
